 Final Image Title: The Witches Table Movie Inspiration: The Addams Family This set up of artwork was created to make the viewer wonder what or who is sitting at this table. The objects placed in this photo give off more of a mysterious or intriguing vibe that calls you in. The alien bust and skeleton cat statue suggest that the person at this table is into extraterrestrial things in life. The dark liquid and candle could be a sign for the more spiritual side of this person and finally the book on top of the plate and the spider web placemat. The book and placemat signify that the person at this table enjoys Halloween or the more spooky parts of the world. All in all, this piece was created to make the viewer think about who could be at a table setting such as this. In Progress Images...

Figurative Sculptures

Final Images This assignment's purpose was to communicate social commentary happening in the world. This sculpture was made to depict the issue of depression and sleep paralysis. It shows two sculptures that are interacting with each other. The bigger and darker sculpture gives off a darker feeling, almost as if it is weighing the other figure down. The smaller and lighter figure is made to look as if it is struggling in some type of way. Its eyes are shown melting into its skull to give off the feeling of loosing control and being pulled down. While it also shows the figure with its mouth open; almost as if it is screaming. The cracks on the sculpture give it a more sinister appeal to it. Touch: Keeper of Earth

This piece, similar to the last, is also made with sketch paper, a pencil, colored pencils, and a fine tip marker. It measures to about 8.5 inches in height and 11 inches in width. This piece was created because of the quote stated below and because I wanted to attempt to capture a figure as powerful as Mother Nature herself. Her headband shows the cycle of life for plants or trees while she holds the world in her hands as if she is keeping it safe. She also looks at peace since her eyes are closed and her hair is blowing in the wind. "Symbolic of life, hair bolts from our head. Like the earth, it can be harvested, but will rise again. We can change its color and texture when the mood strikes us, but in time it will return to its original form, just as Nature will in time turn our precisely laid-out cities into a weed-way."
